Cuando este periodista logra concluir con satisfacción el programa curricular se enfrenta a una realidad anteriormente expuesta que solo se puede combatir de dos maneras: con la belleza o unas buenas ¨patas¨.
Una vez dentro del medio a través de cualquiera de los dos caminos, los miedos se transforman en corporativos y se agregan límites internos y externos.
Al hacer una nota el profesional en comunicación tiene dos caminos: denunciar a sangre fría determinado hecho, derecho que en nuestro país ni los años permite, o acoplarse a lo que quiere ya sea el medio o ciertas personas involucradas. ¿Qué camino escogería usted?
El primero, promete un reconocimiento y una admiración natural por parte de las personas sedientas de un periodismo valiente e información completa y desarrollada, el segundo promete bienestar y buenos comentarios en los pasillos.
Si bien el segundo es el camino más corto para cumplir todos nuestros sueños espirituales y materiales, el primero es mucho más gratificante a la hora de alcanzar esos sueños.
Así es el periodismo actual es Costa Rica, un periodismo seguro, limitado pero cumplidor, poco diverso, lleno de miedos que depende de las nuevas caras vencer, ¿Quién se atreve?

Los periodistas podemos sentir miedo pero como dice un amigo “aquí nadie se rinde”. Definitivamente considero que en un principio ese miedo es provocado por nuestra falta de experiencia y es normal, pero los limites y anhelos cada quien los determina, son proyecciones personales de lo que uno quiere, pero construirse muros, no lo creo sano.
“Con constancia y tenacidad se obtiene lo que se desea; la palabra imposible no tiene significado…” Napoleón.
Exactamente, construirse muros no es nada sano, pero saltarse los que ya estan hechos sin importar como o por que sí, lo que se necesita es derribarlos.
Como dijo Rooberto Walsh, "el periodismo es libre, o es una farsa".
Limitado pero cumplidor el periodismo de Costa Rica? Es limitado. Referirse al periodismo actual como cumplidor (OJO, no necesariamente el que hay, sino el que se encuentra) desestima la capacidad y expectativa nuestra.
Para cumplir hay que llenar la expectativa. Esto se hace efectivamente en algunos medios, a un primer nivel de expectativas: los resultados del partido, las fotos de La Teja, el perfil de un ejecutivo en La Republica o el comentario político en La Nación. Pero, la expectativa hoy en día es diferente, y va a seguir cambiando con una tendencia digital, no solo de la fuente, sino del medio y la interacción.
El periodista no solo informa, analiza, interpreta y califica, sino que ahora tiene la facilidad y responsabilidad de interactuar con su reportaje a un segundo y tercer paso, con sus lectores/oyentes/etc. Una responsabilidad de acercarse en tiempo real y luchar por el medio que permita comunicar su mensaje de la mejor manera y facilitar la mejor interacción con su grupo meta. Para cumplir mi expectativa, deberíamos tener más puntos de contacto, más interacción para generar más relevancia y el periodismo que busco.
